The majority of the dairy department products that DPI Rocky Mountain markets are natural and organic. We started distributing refrigerated natural products approximately 10 years ago for a small company that wanted to produce dairy products without using growth hormones. That company was Horizon Organic Dairy.

In the last five years we have also seen enormous interest in organic products for the traditional dairy department in the stores. The refrigerated natural/organic category is our fastest growing category at DPI Rocky Mountain. Other major brands that we now carry in the natural/organic arena include Stonyfield Farms, Brown Cow, Alta Dena, Organic Valley, Galaxy, Lightlife, Mountain High Yogurt and Yves Veggie Cuisine.

These refrigerated products are made from soy and rice. These packages are located in the regular dairy sections next to the traditional milk products. In most stores in this market, you will find that there is at least a one door set, with these non-dairy products.

Another major aspect of this category is product in aseptic packaging. Several major companies such as White Wave, Imagine Foods and Westsoy have progressed to refrigerated gable top packages in this category.

DPI Rocky Mountain also distributes a variety of traditional dairy products.

We work closely with the broker community to develop, promote and maintain both the traditional dairy and natural/organic products. One of the many services we offer to our customers is the ability to customize a promotional calendar to fit any corporate program, special events and grand openings. Our Account Executives go to the retailers armed with all the information concerning the natural/organic shopper.

We build schematics and secure dedicated refrigerated sections, which are then implemented and maintained by our personnel at store level. Our company pioneered this category with the mass-market retailers in our market. Today we distribute natural/organic refrigerated product to all of the local retail grocery stores.
