Specialty produce is a fast growing segment of our portfolio. DPI West started distributing to produce departments in 1999. DPI West fills the need for distribution on very sensitive refrigerated products in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.

The brands that we offer include, California Day Fresh under the Naked Juice label, Club Fresh cut Fruit, Del Monte, Sun Fresh, Davis Lewis Orchards, Yves, Galaxy foods, Lightlife, Marie's Dressings, Lighthouse, Bobıs Dressings, Walden Farms dressings, Live a Little Gourmet foods and numerous Asian products.

The ability to maintain the cold chain for fresh juice, cut fruit and other specialty produce products was a perfect fit for DPI West. These products were problematic for chain warehouses to handle due to the relatively high temperatures in their produce warehouses. As the fresh juice and cut fruit categories grew, the manufacturers were unable to reach the total amount of stores to properly support the demand for these products. DPI West, with our large sales force and fleet of trucks is able to service the market with the high frequency of delivery required.

Recent years have seen the rapid growth of natural juice products. Whether vitamin enhanced, or pure natural juices, these products have grabbed the attention of shoppers from all walks of life. No longer viewed as something exotic only for the health conscious, these products attract all types of customers looking for freshness and flavor.

Given the short shelf life of these natural products, it is extremely important that they are delivered to the store fresh and frequently. This is the role of DPI West. With our high frequency of delivery and a fleet of trucks delivering to Arizona, Nevada, and California on a daily basis, we get these highly perishable products on the store shelves in the most cost effective manner.

With produce of all types gaining popularity, fresh cut fruit in cups has also grown, both because of the convenience and because of the increased product quality. Again, it is essential that these items be delivered cold, fresh, and often in order to satisfy the consumers demand for these items.
